The event offered entertainment and a chance for community members, residents and staff to meet and mingle. More than 100 prospective residents joined New Pond Village residents at Summer Sizzle where attendees toured and celebrated the newly renovated independent living apartments. People who toured the apartments described them as luxurious, spacious, modern, open and beautifully designed.

Susan Cwieka, campus executive director for New Pond Village, said the event was well attended and is part of New Pond Village’s commitment to providing fun and engaging events.

“It’s summer and what better way to celebrate and kick it off than with an event where community members can relax, eat some tasty treats and catch up with one another,” said Cwieka.

Several of the residents raved about Chef Werner’s food, including Clara Katz. “It was delicious and there was such a great variety to choose from.”

Other residents commented on the entertainment and what great attendance there was on Tuesday.

“It was wonderful to have such a large crowd and to be able to see how much people were enjoying the food, music and seeing each other,” said John Tincler, president of the Resident Association.

Pat Foley said, “The music and entertainment was delightful and excellent.”

The renovation is part of an $8 million expansion representing a significant investment in serving the Walpole community where New Pond Village has played an important role in offering high-quality independent and health services since 1991. The community plans to showcase its renovations this fall. The expansion includes the first memory care neighborhood in Walpole.
